Entry into Process Leadership
Our Starting Point
Our starting point is comprehensive training of the Process Leader in the full range of Process skills including Process Facilitation, provided in 3 stages as follows.
Process Leadership 1: the Processes, Techniques and Logistics of Facilitating Work Groups
This is a highly interactive workshop designed to prepare Process Leaders to enter the field of process facilitation as a practitioner. It is state-of-the-art training that has made many Process Facilitators conspicuously successful as leaders in their organizations, in their private practice and in their communities. It provides full integration of the processes, techniques, and logistics of process facilitation and provides learners with the vocabulary of the field.
For some participants, the concepts and practices presented will be new. For others, they will confirm their current approach and perhaps offer alternatives. For all participants, the workshop offers an integrated framework for learning how to facilitate, continuously learn new process ideas, and make the process facilitator’s work increasingly more useful to the group and the organization.
Process Leadership 1 also offers a standard against which to measure oneself. The Process Facilitator’s CoreSkills Inventory consists of measurable skills for participants to gauge their strengths and weaknesses. With the help of a personal coach, the participant gets structured feedback on what to concentrate on during the learning sessions and ongoing assistance during and after the learning session.
The program is largely practice-based. Short theory sessions and demonstrations are followed by extensive hands-on practice and coaching sessions on practice cases. Because everyone is trying to support each other’s learning, the work atmosphere is positive, engaging and motivating.
Who Should Attend?
This 40-hour learning event is designed for Process Leaders who are called upon to provide facilitation services to their organizations including managers and practitioners charged with Organization Development in fields such as:
- Conflict Resolution
- Safety Management
- Project Management
- Quality Management
- Change Management
- Community Engagement
- Human Resource Management
- Business, Strategic and Operational Planning
Key Points of Learning
In this workshop, participants will learn how to:
- Focus the group’s energy on what is high priority
- Increase the group’s capacity to use reliable information
- Explain a process to a group and then guide them through it
- Help the group identify and confront its tensions and conflicts
- Build the group into a team based on the result it wishes to achieve
- Select a process to help a work group handle a full range of situations
- Model and transfer to the group behaviours that are productive and positive
Process Leadership 2: Process Management and Intervention
Once an organization has adopted the basic skills of process facilitation and has acquired some experience with Process Leadership and process awareness, a best next step would be to provide further learning to those Process Facilitators who are called upon to deal with the larger scale issues of the organization. Change Management, Strategic Planning, Stakeholder Engagement, Risk Management and Governance Development all need an effective process as a fundamental requirement.
Process Leadership 2: Process Management and Intervention is an advanced program consisting of 40 hours of further study and practice in the skills of facilitation as they relate to Organization Development or the ongoing management of organizational change. This workshop has Process Leadership 1: the Processes, Techniques and Logistics of Facilitating Work Groups as a pre-requisite.
Process Leadership 3: Application Studies
Process Leadership 3: Application Studies provides the client organization with a completely professional Process Leader who has been tested in the place of work. These Process Leaders lead in the development of process-savvy organizations. Their studies generally lead to certification through international certifying agencies if and as desired by the organization and the practitioners themselves.
